Projekt BMS 2016 – first Poland-wide conference successfully completed!
The first edition of the Poland-wide Projekt BMS 2016 conference was a success. „The meeting place for which the intelligent solutions and building automation industry has been waiting for”, „A platform allowing to exchange opinions and to search for the best solutions,” „This is what the industry needs!” – these are just a few of the reviews shared by the participants of the Projekt BMS 2016.
During the 2-day event 16 speakers – representatives of manufacturers, distributors and industry experts, presented their solutions during 9 lectures, 4 expert lectures, and a debate with the participation of 5 representatives of intelligent solutions for buildings sector. 14 companies presented their products in the exhibition area. The event was attended by nearly 150 people – including over 90 participants – the decision makers from the integration companies, fitters, facility and energy management, technical services and the property managers. This in a nutshell summarizes the first, Poland-wide edition of Projekt BMS 2016 held on 12-13 October at the Hotel Magellan Spa & Business in Bronislawow.
During the meeting, the practitioners representing the solutions in the management of intelligent buildings and integrated building automation sector discussed the newest industry trends and prospects for the application of systems on the Polish market, including the ways to increase the efficiency of buildings. The speakers analyzed technological innovations in the field of Smart Building, building automation systems and building management technology.

For the full two days the participants were allowed to use the exhibition part for the presentation of the equipment and individual consultations.
The event was attended by experts dealing with issues related to the effectiveness and power efficiency. The first day of the conference was opened by a lecture given by a special guest – Roger Woodward – Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA region of Tridium. The lecture titled „Building Automation – A Connected Future, how will you position your Company” introduced the participants to the world of the latest trends in the field of intelligent building management.
The second day of the conference was entirely devoted to expert panels. Ewa Kosmala – Member of the Board of the Polish Green Building Council – PLGBC introduced 10 initiations of sustainable buildings. Kamil Stolarski – Legal Counsel of SMW LEGAL presented the specifics of green public procurement for BMS under the amended provisions of the Public Procurement Law Act. Paweł Kwasnowski from the Faculty of Electrotechnics, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at AGH University of Science and Technology in Cracow discussed the methodology for assessing the impact of BMS systems for energy efficiency in buildings, in the context of the PN-EN 15232 norm.
During the Projekt BMS 2016 conference, all participants had an opportunity to speak out in the debate „Impressive or effective? How does BMS affect the energy efficiency of buildings?”. The discussion was joined by the practitioners in the subject of BMS and commercial applications: Damian Kaczmarek – President of the Board in Prodam, Andrzej Dudała – BMS Section Manager, Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the Jagiellonian University’s Restoration, Paweł Kwasnowski from the Faculty of Electrotechnics, Automatics, Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering at AGH, Ewa Kosmala – Member of the Board in PLGBC, Michał Pierzchalski – Director of the Laboratory of Energy Saving Buildings Design KAPE – representing the Honorary Patron of the conference. Speakers focused on the issue of legal and certification requirements, and analyzed the cooperation between the investor and the designer with appropriate and reasonable choice of solutions for a given building. The whole event ended with an evening banquet integration, encouraging efficient cooperation between business partners. The participants engaged in „Football Championship” and took part in Formula 1 competition – „Grand Prix for the Cup of Projekt BMS 2016”.
