Kamil Stadnicki | Product Manager | MSc(Eng) graduate from Gdańsk University of Technology who started his career in Roger company 6 years ago. Responsible for development of access control systems and trainings both in Poland and abroad.

Scalable access control system with building automation and alarm system control | ROGER company has started to offer new RACS 5 access control and building automation  system after year-long tests and installations of pilot systems. The development of RACS 5 took several years and was based on a long-term experience of ROGER engineers gained in the development of previous RACS 4 system. RACS 5 is scalable system and can be applied in small installations covering single or several doors as well as in big (above 1000 doors) and distributed installations. Apart from access control the system provides also building automation functionalities and integration with intruder alarm systems.

Director of the Malopolska’s Center of Energy-Efficient Construction. A graduate of the Cracow University of Technology.  Represents the scientific field of building physics and energy efficient construction. Expert actively participating in the meetings of the advisory and opinion of the representatives of the Malopolska Regional Government, the effect of which is to develop the provisions of the Malopolska Region strategy and long-term development of the Malopolska take into account the development of measures to improve energy efficiency especially in the area of construction. Expert working actively in the work to implement EU Directives, inter alia, for the development and implementation of the definition of near zero energy buildings in Poland. She is a member of the Polish Committee for Standardization, the Association of Energy Auditors and expert appointed to evaluate international projects related to the area of energy saving measures.

Graduate and lecturer of the Cracow University of Technology. Architect. Affiliated with Cracow University of Technology since 2002. Since 2008, engaged in creating a strategy in field of energy-efficient and ecological building for Malopolska province. In 2011 appointed a member of the Polish Standardization Committee. In the years 2013-2014 Manager of Design Studio Landscape Architecture at the  Architecture Faculty of the Cracow University of Technology. Scientific work combined with professional practice being the author of over a hundred projects architectural and urban planning. The winner of the architectural and building contests. In 2013, highlighted with the main prize of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy for the best completed public utility object (Town Hall in Pawlowice). In 2014, designed by him bridge in Andrychow was awarded with the III degree in the competition „Construction of the year 2013” organized by the Polish Association of Construction Engineers and Technicians in conjunction with the Ministry of Infrastructure and Development, and the General Office of Building.  In 2014, he published a scientific monograph entitled „Central Industrial Region (COP) 1936-1939. Architecture and urban planning”.

Malopolska Laboratory of Energy Efficient Building – case study | Experimental buildings for „in situ” research are a very important tool for collecting data on the energy efficiency of the energy-saving technologies. One of the most advanced building of this type in Poland is the Maloposkie Laboratory of Energy-saving Buildings at Cracow University of Technology.The building itself is used by scientists as a research object and research tool to test energy-saving technologies. It is equipped with a specialized measuring system consisting of approx. 3 000 different sensors distributed in technical installations and structural elements of the building (walls, ceilings, cornices) and the ground. The authors of the paper will present the innovative design and technology of this specialized instrumentation. They will discuss issues arising during the implementation and use of the building.

BIM in the building’s lifecycle – A vision verified in practice | Building Information Modeling has been a term, which was used by software vendors as a lockpick to open the clients’ hearts.  There are almost unlimited possibilities that are attributed to this technology, which give the ability of self-solving problems that bother designers, executors, property owners and facility managers. Surely BIM is the hope for solving many difficulties connected with a large amount of information, which has to be managed in the era of intelligent buildings. Is it really the remedy for all the problems? Many examples of the badly planned implementation of this technology, which effects didn’t go beyond some “pretty pictures” teach us, that the aspects of the work organisation plays the main role In the whole process. The question is – how to effectively implement the potential of the BIM technology?
